Supplant company named a finalist for world changing ideas
- 6/22/2022
We’ve been working hard at our world-changing ideas, and we’re delighted to share that we’ve been recognized for our efforts!
Fast Company has announced its 2022 World Changing Ideas Awards. The magazine has named Supplant™ sugars from fiber as a finalist in the Food category, and as an honorable mention in the Nature category.
This award celebrates our work in creating sugars from fiber, a revolutionary new ingredient that replaces cane sugar with a sustainable option that is better for you and for the planet. It also recognizes the importance of our work toward a sustainable global food system.
Because sugars from fiber is made with unused or low-value agricultural fiber, it results in getting more food from every harvest. And by replacing unsustainable sugar from sugarcane, it lets us protect nature by reducing the need for deforestation. This is especially important in megadiverse tropical regions where refined sugar is most often produced.
We’re in great company, with many other world-changing ideas. Fast Company’s Summer 2022 issue showcases Supplant™ sugars from fiber alongside many of the world’s most inventive entrepreneurs and companies. They’ve all come up with groundbreaking solutions for global challenges, including probiotics for coral reefs, easy-to-assemble kit homes for refugees or disaster survivors, a 3D-printed vaccine patch, and more.
We’re grateful to the Fast Company editors and reporters who selected the winners and finalists. They chose from a pool of more than 2,997 entries, in categories including food, nature, politics, technology, health, social justice, and more. The 2022 awards feature entries from around the world, from Switzerland to Hong Kong to Australia. It’s an honor to add this award to our growing list of recognitions, which include a nomination for the prestigious Earthshot Prize.
Want to taste our world-changing idea for yourself? You can try sugars from fiber in our chocolate bars, shortbread, and other products available now.
