How we make it...
We start with the goodness of plant fiber, the most abundant material in the natural world, and the only macronutrient that almost no Americans get enough of.

We then use plant science to create our world-changing ingredient Supplant™ Sugars from Fiber.
First we...
...collect fiber-rich parts of crops like stems, stalks, husks and cobs from farmyards, forests and food facilities. We then grind down these often-unused agricultural side streams into manageable chunks so that the fiber inside them is easily accessible.
Next we...
...break down the long and complex chains of sugars found in fiber using enzymes from fungi. These long chains of sugars (called polysaccharides) break down into shorter chains of sugars (called oligosaccharides and sugars). This releases our 'sugars from fiber' blend.
Once we're finished...
...with our blend of fiber-derived sugars, we can cook, bake and mix to make delicious products. These fiber-derived sugars behave like traditional sugar in food – but retain certain fiber-based qualities. They're low in calories because fiber is. They're low in glycemic impact because fiber is. And they're prebiotic because fiber is.
